Today we honour a life lost too soon by holding a minutes silence before our games.
Amelie Zeal passed away in July after a brave battle with a rare type of brain stem cancer leaving everyone who knew her devastated.
Amelie was a local child attending Rodborough and then Sir William Romney school, socialising with friends across Stroud, and a member of Rodborough under 16s (now U18's) as well as being a keen surfer and competitive rower, amongst many other things.
A well regarded member of the team, someone popular in the group and someone thought highly of by her coaches and parent group. Amelie loved playing football and was part of a family of football players with a sister also playing within the club.
Today we honour and remember her life, the strength and inspiration she gave and continues to give to other, and take a moment to think about her passion for life and her bravery to live life to the full. While sending love and compassion to those she left behind.
The family are raising money for brain Stem cancer research by walking 1200 miles from John o groats to lands end. Something that Amelie had wanted to do. What an amazing tribute and we send best wishes to her family and friends.
